THE MEDIA

Crime Victims for a Just Society has strong ties with academics and working journalists who seek to educate reporters and editors of today and tomorrow about how they can do a better job of reporting on crime and the victims of violence in our culture, while taking care of themselves in the process.

CVJS executive director Bonnie Bucqueroux coordinates the Victims and the Media Program at Michigan State University's School of Journalism. The website offers information and advice for victims, victim advocates and journalists on how to report on crime victims with dignity, sensitivity and respect. Victim advocates in Michigan should also sign up for our free webcourse on Building an Effective Media Strategy.
